Code of Conduct

In accordance with Article 17 of Law 679 of 2001 and Law 1329 of July 17, 2009, Hotel Poblado Plaza informs guests, clients, and suppliers that the sexual exploitation and abuse of minors in Colombia are subject to criminal and administrative penalties under current laws. Our employees are required to enforce the minimum control measures established in the Code of Conduct.

CODE OF CONDUCT (LAW 1336 OF 2009)

To counteract the Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children and Adolescents (CSEC) in Hotel Poblado Plaza, we have adopted this Code of Conduct. After a thorough review by all staff members, we enforce the obligations outlined in Articles 16 and 17 of Law 679 of 2001 and actively work to prevent behaviors listed in Article 19 of the same law, incorporating the following minimum control measures:

  1. Refrain from promoting or including CSEC-related activities—explicitly or implicitly—in tourism programs or travel packages.
  2. Refrain from providing information to tourists, either directly or through intermediaries, about locations where CSEC is coordinated or practiced.
  3. Refrain from facilitating or transporting tourists—directly or through third parties—to establishments or locations where CSEC occurs, including accommodations or offshore vessels for such purposes.
  4. Refrain from providing vehicles for tourism routes with the intent of facilitating sexual exploitation or abuse of minors.
  5. Prevent the entry of minors into hotels, accommodations, bars, or other establishments that offer tourism services with CSEC-related purposes.
  6. Implement measures to prevent company staff, under any contractual arrangement, from offering tourism services that facilitate sexual activity with minors.
  7. Report any known instances of CSEC to the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Tourism and other relevant authorities, ensuring that internal channels exist for employees to file reports.
  8. Develop and communicate a company policy—including suppliers of goods and services—establishing preventive measures against CSEC in tourism and travel.
  9. Provide training for all staff members on preventing the Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children and Adolescents (CSEC).
  10. Inform clients about the legal consequences in Colombia of engaging in CSEC.
  11. Display this Code of Conduct in a visible area for employees, along with any additional commitments or measures the company adopts to protect minors.
